Our Staff

Shannen Fogarty-Nurse

Shannen joined the Columbia Gorge Veterinary clinic in 2008. She has over 26 years experience in veterinary nursing.

She enjoying breeding, training, and competing with her dogs and skiing and sailing, when she can get away from her small hobby farm.

Michelle Peterson:

Michelle has been working in a veterinary practice since 2002. She hailed from North Carolina where she received a bachelor’s degree in science.  Michelle first became interested in the veterinary field after volunteering in a clinic and enjoying the passion between pets, their owners and their medical team. The gorge became home for her in 2009 and she plans on continuing to enjoy the great outdoors and wonderful people here with her two rescue dogs, Rio and A'mi.

Ash Harris

Ash joined the clinic in the fall of 2019. In search of sun, mountains, and a chilled-out life, Ash quit her job as a writing professor and moved to the Gorge. In the summer months, she also works at the Rowena Wildlife Clinic in Mosier, OR. (Her bumper sticker reads: I BREAK FOR CALIFORNIA QUAIL!) In her free time, Ash can be found hiking with her Cairn terrier, reading voraciously, and studying to remember all of the different types of prescription diet options that the clinic offers.

Lucy Lopez

Lucy joined our team in the early spring months of 2019, moving up from California. She is fluent in Spanish and decided that the beautiful mountains of the Gorge was the place to be. With previous animal experience--ranging from raising cattle as a kid to working in a shelter environment--she plans to continue her education in veterinary medicine to become an bovine veterinarian in the future.
